Rare White Natural Pearl, Diamond, Ruby & Sapphire 'Butterfly' Brooch

A late Victorian multi-gem butterfly brooch. The wings are encrusted with old-cut natural diamonds, highlighted with rubies and sapphires; whilst the body is encrusted with rare white natural pearls, with faceted ruby eyes. This muti-gem butterfly is set on a sterling silver and 9 ct white and yellow gold on a brooch fitting, from the 1890s.
