Light Skin Tones That Don’t Tan Well
Wearing the correct colour pearl for your complexion makes a huge impact. It is like switching on a light in a room, select the correct colour and shazam! The perfect pearls for pale skinned beauties that go lobster red in the sun are those with cool overtones e.g. cool white & pale pink. Dove grey pearls with blue, green and pale pink overtones will look stunning; and peacock black pearls with strong green overtones will turn heads. For example, there is a Tahitian pearl that is a “faded-jeans” blue, which looks extraordinarily beautiful with blue-eyed blondes. In contrast, black Tahitian pearls with strong petrol green overtones will make the wearer look and feel beautifully confident.
Gaelic Skin
Gaelic skin has a unique green undertone. The hair colour, eye colour and tan ability of the client is immaterial, it is the unique green undertone of the skin that determines the best pearls for the wearer. For this complexion we would suggest strong warm colours. Copper will look stunning, peach will look almost white, and you will turn heads with black pearls with green overtones. For Akoya pearls we would suggest creamy whites and pearls with peach overtones. For South Sea pearls we would suggest warm whites or pale warm golds. For Tahitian pearls we would suggest strong green or aubergine colours. We strongly adviseagainst cold coloured pearls.
