Stunningly beautiful cultured baroque pearl earrings. Baroque pearls by their natural formation are difficult to pair, these large white cultured south sea baroque shape pearls are almost triangular in shape. They are held on 18ct white gold Shepherd Crook fittings set with 12 GVS diamonds which glow discreetly in your ear, perfect for a decidedly glamorous statement look and candlelit dinners.
Baroque pearls are always irregular in shape meaning each pearl is unique, they both have very high luster. The pearls are 15 mm in diameter approximately and the overall length of the earrings is 1.5 inches or 3.3 cm
South Sea pearls are produced in White lipped, Silver lipped and Gold lipped oysters that inhabit the waters of Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines, Indonesia and Burma.
South Sea pearls are mainly 9-16mm in diameter although they can be well over 20mm.
White and silver lipped oysters birth pearls that are mainly white in colour with a range of overtones from silver to pale pink, whereas gold lipped oysters will create pearls that go from a light gold hue to a deep orange gold hue.
Always choose the pearls with the deepest lustre within the budget set, if necessary compromising on size and surface perfection, as it is the lustre which will light up the wearer’s face and will therefore be most flattering. All the pearls we use in Coleman Douglas Pearls jewellery are individually chosen for their lustre.
The nacre can start from 1mm and is usually 2.5mm thick. The thicker the nacre is, the longer the pearls will last, and usually the better their lustre will be.
